FIND out more about the history and repertoire of the classical guitar with a talk at Bridport LSi on Thursday, June 27.

400 Years of the Guitar - A Talk and Recital by Anthony Dodds & Colin Thompson takes place at 7.30pm.

People will be able to enjoy an acoustic recital and presentation based around the classical guitar.

The talk and recital will feature music from 1550 to the present day and include 19th century duets played on original early guitars.

Colin Thompson studied guitar at the London College of Music and followed a playing career as a soloist, duo and chamber music player. He was a founder member of the English Guitar Quartet and performed with them for six years.

Anthony Dodds has taught classical guitar for more than 30 years and has taken part in regular duo and chamber music recitals. He is the editor of the Capriol series of books which specialise in English music for the guitar.

The LSi is said to be a perfect venue for acoustic instruments and small ensemble music and all proceeds from the event will go towards developing the LSi, which is a registered charity.
