THE ever popular Dorset County Show is returning to Dorchester Showground on Saturday, September 7 and Sunday, September 8.
Founded by Dorchester Agricultural Society in 1840, the show - open daily from 8.30am to 6pm - celebrates the best of agriculture and rural life.
The annual two-day event offers something for everyone, from families to agricultural enthusiasts.
Throughout the weekend competitive classes will be taking place for more than 20 different types of cattle, more than 30 different types of sheep, goats and pigs, as well as in homecraft, horticulture and sheep shearing. Poultry, rabbits and alpacas will also be on show, with falconry displays, scurry racing and the grand parade of award-winning livestock taking place in the main ring.
Food lovers will have an extensive range of hand-picked catering concessions to choose from with more than 450 trade stands.
