IMAGINE a crew of professional home-grown UK hip-hop dancers who've individually appeared on the West End, acted alongside Beckham, Ronaldhino and George Michael, danced with Ballet Rambert and worked with Deborah Bull of the Royal Ballet You'd surely expect them to hail from the urban centres of London or Leeds - but Swindon?

However, the South West has produced a dance crew of astounding dancers who will be touring UK theatres with Busk: Kings of the Sidewalk, a full-length piece of hip-hop dance theatre which is coming to Sturminster Newton Exchange next week.

Led by hip-hop legend Banxy, the crew of six young men are professionals who have literally evolved from the streets'.

Only half of them have had professional dance training; these are men who have grown up with dance in their blood, who have immersed themselves into hip-hop culture and who have made it their life.

Growing up dancing on the streets of Swindon, Banxy, Joey D, Deman, Dayna, Soopa J and DJ Baila have focused their energies and made a career out of their passion.

Banxy is a hip-hop dancer and teacher who hails from Swindon and is well known for his choreographic and teaching work across Britain and abroad.

The show is energetic, charged, technically brilliant and with universal appeal. It's hip-hop dance theatre - very physical and energetic, technically brilliant and most of all fun.

Banxy and Swindon Dance will present Busk - Kings of the Sidewalk on Wednesday, November 7 at 7.30pm in the Sturminster Newton exchange. Tickets cost £8 plus concessions and family rates. Call 01258 475137 or visit stur-exchange.co.uk
