ENJOY an evening of Christmas song and dance at St Edmund's Church Hall in Weymouth on Sunday, December 15.
The festive celebration will feature performances by The Decadettes and The Weymouth School of Ballet & Theatre Arts, plus singers Robert Smith and Damaris Fowler.
The concert is supporting the ongoing campaign to make Weymouth more dementia-friendly. Proceeds from the evening will go towards the Weymouth Alzheimer's Support Group and the Rex Cinema in Wareham, which holds dementia-friendly screenings every first Wednesday of the month.
Music and song can be important to people living with dementia and the concert will include numbers that encourage audience participation. Alzheimer's UK offers several services in Weymouth, including carers support, a memory cafe, and a singing for the brain group, where people with dementia, as well as their friends and family, are encouraged to take part in music therapy.
The Christmas Song and Dance concert begins at 6.30pm and tickets are £5 per person, available on the door. Refreshments will be served during the interval.
