NEXT week offers music lovers the opportunity to catch one of the world's great guitar virtuosos and composers when Eduardo Niebla performs at Lighthouse Centre for the Arts Poole.

Originally from Spain, Niebla is one of the most outstanding artists in Britain today, whose virtuosity and stunning compositions have seen him perform throughout the world including the Jaipur Festival India, the Tbilisi International Jazz Festival, the San Isidro Fiesta Madrid, the Olympic Games in Athens, Glastonbury and the Brecon International Jazz Festivals.

Last month he was invited to appear in Kolkata to celebrate Indian Independence Day in a grand concert with India's most acclaimed musicians.

The concert in Poole marks the start of Eduardo's autumn and spring touring, which will take him to the South Bank Centre London, Liverpool Philharmonic Hall, The Sage Gateshead, St. George's Bristol among others plus a tour of his homeland Spain in November.

A spokesman for Lighthouse said: "He will perform his original compositions described by Jazz UK as 'a stunning collection of originals... showing what Jelly Roll Morton called the Spanish tinge is still a potent force'. This is world class guitar playing of the highest order."

The Poole concert is on Monday, at 7.30pm. Tickets are £14.50 plus concessions from Lighthouse on 0844 406 8666.
