Celebrate all things Irish on March 17 with a St. Patrick’s Day Parade concert at Bournemouth’s Pavilion Theatre, performed by the BSO.

BBC Radio 3 presenter Petroc Trelawny will add his dulcet tones to guide you through the music, starting with a journey across the Irish Sea with Mendelssohn’s Calm Sea and Prosperous Voyage, before a brief visit to Scandinavia to visit the cousins of the Leprechauns – trolls – in Grieg’s Peer Gynt Suite.

One lucky concert-goer will win dinner and an overnight stay at Bournemouth’s Green Hotel – but you have to be there to be in with a chance to win. So grab a pint of Guinness or some Irish whisky and make your way to the Bournemouth Pavilion for this fantastic evening of Irish celebrations.

The concert is on March 17 at 7pm and tickets are available in advance by calling the Bournemouth Pavilion.

The Amazing Mr Smith brings his one-man show More Mad Musical Inventions to the Electric palace in Bridport tonight.

This is the first performance in Bridport since one of Bentley’s Big Nite Outs back in about 2004 and the show now has lots of new material as well as some old favourites.

The Amazing Mr. Smith has been described as Monty Python’s answer to John Williams, a sort of one-man Bonzo-Dog Doo-Dah Band. His combination of mad musical inventions and brilliant acoustic guitar playing make him one of the funniest and most original entertainers around.

Doors open at 7pm and the show is at 8pm. Tickets are £10 in advance from Bridport TIC on 01308 424901, £12 on the door.
