**CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) RESPONSE**
With the ongoing battle against Covid-19, we are continuing to focus our efforts on high visibility patrols across all areas of West Dorset, challenging people we come across in line with Government legislation along with supporting the most vulnerable within our communities. Please follow Government guidelines and advice from the NHS to help keep yourself and others safe.
Welcome to the Dorchester Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) page which covers the main town shopping area, Brewery Square, Poundbury and all the encompassing residential areas. The team also cover the large surrounding rural and farming areas around our county town.
The NPT work alongside partner agencies and the local community to ensure Dorchester remains a safe place to live, work and visit. Working in partnership means we can tackle the issues that most affect local people and the NPT have 4 main theme based priorities across Dorchester (& West Dorset), which are:
1. Deliver engagement to prevent and educate the community against scams.
2. Disrupt 'County Lines' networks and criminal exploitation of vulnerable people.
3. Reduce Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB)
4. Policing our rural communities in partnership with the Rural Crime Team.
Please see the Local Priorities section below for more specific and localised issues in your area that we are currently working on.
The NPT believe it’s vitally important that we are accessible to the communities we police and whilst we have taken the decision to suspend face-to-face engagement events at this time, we regularly update our social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter & Instagram - You can follow us using the links on the right hand side of this page). We also utilise Dorset Alert (See the foot of this page for details of how to sign up and see how we can keep you informed so you can help us keep your community safe).
** If you wish to request digital attendance at a community meeting where you have a policing issue you wish to raise, do get in contact with the team to see if we can join you.
If you need to report something or wish to speak to a local officer directly, you can visit the "Contact Us / Do It Online" section of the main Dorset website. For those who are unable to use the internet, you can still call 101 for non-emergencies and 999 should always be called for an emergency where a crime is in progress or life is in danger.

YOUR VOICE MATTERS
What do you think our priorities should be?
Let Us Know…
As your local Neighbourhood Policing Team we are continuing to police toward our local priorities and targets, despite the current situation. We would normally be holding face to face engagements with our communities to help us build a better picture around what our local policing priorities should be. We are keen to continue harnessing your community concerns to achieve this. Therefore we have created this quick online survey to help us make an informed decision around our NPT local priorities. Please see the above link which will take directly to our, (very short) survey.
Please note that the Dorchester Enquiry Office is CLOSED to the public. Please be assured that Police Officers will still be working in your area. If you wish to make a non-urgent enquiry, please either use the yellow telephone or dial 101 from any other telephone. For all emergency calls please call 999. You may also wish to use our on-line services or email non-emergency enquiries to enquiries@Dorset.pnn.police.uk
