POLICE have arrested seven people in a crackdown on crime in Littlemoor.
A 17-year-old man wanted for a number of offences was arrested during the operation at 9pm last night and remains in custody helping police with enquiries.
Four men aged between 18 and 24, a 22-year-old woman and a 49-year-old woman were also arrested on suspicion of harbouring a criminal.
The six people, all from Littlemoor, remain in police custody.
Inspector Les Fry, of Weymouth and Portland police, said: "We will not tolerate crime or anti-social behaviour and we will take positive action against anyone suspected of committing offences.
"Following recent crime we have increased patrols in the area quite considerably and we will continue to target those whose behaviour falls below what the community expects and deserves."
The operation involved a number of departments within Dorset Police including Safer Neighbourhood teams, patrol officers, armed response units and special operations including dog handlers.
Inspector Fry added: "Weymouth and Portland Borough Council, Dorset County Council, Dorset Fire and Rescue Service, Synergy Housing and all community groups within Littlemoor will continue to work towards making it a safe place to live and work."
