THE RSPB in Weymouth are holding a weekend dedicated to the UK’s biggest bird; the mute swan.

Turn up anytime between 10am and 3pm at the RSPB’s Wild Weymouth Discovery Centre at Radipole Lake on tomorrow and Sunday and families can take part in a range of free events and activities.

The RSPB’s Luke Philips said: “ The swan is one of Britain’s most iconic birds and the species has a long history with the town of Weymouth.

“During the weekend families can follow a swan detective trail, visit a private area of the reserve where the local swan herders lived, get involved in loads of craft activities, help us count the swans on the reserve and even play pin the feather on the swan – though not a real one!”

The event will take place at RSPB Radipole Lake in Weymouth on January 19 and 20 between 10am and 3pm.
