FIREFIGHTERS put out a chip pan blaze at a house in Weymouth this afternoon.
Crews were alerted to Kitchener Road in Westham at 1pm where an unattended pan had sparked a blaze.
Firefighters wearing breathing kits used a fire blanket to put it out.
Crew manger Nigel Randall said chips pans are best avoided as there are safer appliances available - or he urged people to have oven chips instead.
