HUNDREDS of pounds were raised at an event to help give a poorly youngster from New Milton her dream holiday.

Little Milly Smith suffers from a rare immune condition, Chronic Granumolatous Disorder (CGD), which leaves her vulnerable to common infections.

Later this summer, the five-year-old is due to undergo a bone marrow transplant after her seven-year-old sister Kacey was found to be a match.

So, to help the little girl through her treatments, her family and friends are fundraising for a special trip to Disneyland Paris.

And on Saturday, the two sisters along with younger brother Brody were at a special party – Milly’s Dream Fundraiser – to help raise money for the holiday-of-a-lifetime.

With guest of honour Peppa Pig making an appearance at the party at Ashley Baptist Church, youngsters also enjoyed playing on the bouncy castle as well as other activities.

Mum Theresa said: “We raised nearly £500, which is brilliant for our first official event. It’s taken a lot of organising but I’m going to try and do another one.

“It’s been a great day and brilliant to see Milly and Kacey enjoying themselves so much.

The family hopes to be able to take the holiday either next year or in 2015, depending upon how quickly Milly recovers from her treatment.

Milly will undergo radiotherapy and chemotherapy to eradicate her immune system before she can receive the bone marrow, followed by up to eight weeks in isolation, away from her older sister.

All the proceeds from the event will go towards the holiday for Theresa, Kacey and Milly.

A fundraising page has also been set up where people can donate money towards the trip. Visit gofundme.com/Millys Dream to donate.
