A MAN has been arrested after an alleged road rage incident on Portland.
It happened at the junction of Reforne and Station Road and police are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
It is alleged that a white VW transporter van overtook a silver Audi A4 driven by a Portland man in his 40s, as it was travelling southbound along Easton Lane and onto Reforne.
The van, which had a large amateur radio aerial on the roof, then pulled across the path of the car.
Police said the van driver and a passenger approached the car driver and threatened him, removing the keys to the Audi and throwing them down the road.
Police constable Nick Gravenor, of Weymouth Police, said: βAt the time of the incident there were a number of other motorists including a bus in the area and I am appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
βI also urge anyone who witnessed the manner of driving of either vehicle to contact Dorset Police.β
No one was injured in the incident, which took place at around 6pm on Thursday, May 16.
A 35-year-old Portland man was arrested and released on bail pending further enquiries.
Anyone with information should contact Dorset Police on 101.
