DEK supremo John Hartner has been appointed to the steering committee of an industry body.
Mr Hartner, who is Weymouth-based DEK's company chief executive officer, has joined the IPC's Surface Mount Equipment Manufacturers Association (SMEMA).
The IPC is the Association Connecting Electronics Industries and was formerly known as the Institute of Interconnecting and Packaging Electronic Circuits.
In his new role Mr Hartner will share insights he has gained from working in the electronics industry and developing the international company.
The IPC's SMEMA council comprises of suppliers to electronics assemblers with a particular focus on equipment manufacturers.
It aims to initiate international technical, managerial and financial programmes to enhance working relationships and equipment compatibility.
