A WEYMOUTH woman has died after being hit by a tube train in London.
Lindsey Burgess, 28, a fundraising initiatives officer with charity Unicef in the capital, was killed at Bethnal Green tube station.
She was hit by an eastbound Central Line train at lunchtime on Saturday.
British Tansport Police are investigating the incident, and have interviewed the train driver and reviewed CCTV footage.
They say there were no witnesses to the incident.
A spokesman said the nature of the death has not yet been explained, but it is not thought to be suspicious.
Miss Burgess was the daughter of Weymouth and Portland Borough Council environmental services director Richard Burgess.
She moved to Weymouth with her family in 1993, and attended Wey Valley School before studying at Weymouth College.
After attending the University of Warwick, Miss Burgess worked at New Look in Weymouth as a human resources administrator.
She moved to London to take the job with Unicef after a stint with Breast Cancer Care.
The keen sportswoman - once a member of Weymouth Ladies' Volleyball Club - also worked as a ski instructor in France before relocating to London.
In 2002 she climbed Ben Nevis to raise over £1,000 for epilepsy research, in memory of her cousin David who died from an epileptic fit.
Miss Burgess was the eldest of three children.
