A 17-YEAR-OLD girl has been indecently assaulted whilst walking home at night near Poundbury on Monday.

Now, detectives have released the description of the attacker and are urging anyone who may have seen him or recognise his description to come forward.

The assault happened at around 11pm on Monday 14 October when the victim was walking up Bridport Road – near the junction of Blagdon Road and Whitfield Road, just before the St John’s Ambulance building.

Inspector Steve Marsh of Dorchester police section said: “The victim was walking up the road on her way home listening to her headphones so she couldn’t hear.

“The male approached her from behind and put his hands around her and groped her.”

“She then turns around startled and the man crossed the road and walked towards the Castle View Nursing home in Poundbury.”

The victim immediately flagged down a car to get help in case the attacker returned.

Insp Marsh added: “The 17-year-old is understandably very upset and scared about what happened.

“She didn’t know the offender but got a good description so I urge anyone who saw this person to get in touch with the police.
