A GOOD Samaritan was set upon by a group of youths in Weymouth as he tried to help out another man already under attack.
Police said the victim rushed to the man's aid when he saw him being picked on by a gang of youngsters in Coneygar Lane, between St Mary Street and New Street.
But he was headbutted and punched by the gang.
Dorset Police are appealing for witnesses of the attack on Sunday night to come forward.
