BREWING is set to return to Brewery Square as a pub chain has announced plans to open at the development.
Brewhouse & Kitchen, a brewing pub chain, will add its name to the list of retailers already open or set to open at the £100m Dorchester site. Eldridge Pope brewed their famous ales at Brewery Square between 1880 and the late 1990s.
Andrew Wadsworth, director of Brewery Square development company Waterhouse, said: “Brewhouse & Kitchen is a terrific addition to Brewery Square.
"We are it sure will be a great success.
"The copper brewing vats on show in the pub are a memorable feature. "The range of restaurants, cafes, bar and shops at Brewery Square are proving very popular.”
Brewhouse & Kitchen will join restaurants Wagamama, Carluccio’s, Zizzi, Pizza Express, Nando’s, Vivo Lounge, Costa, Café Panini’s and Simon’s Deli as well as shops such as Phase Eight and the 76-bed Premier Inn.
Simon Bunn, managing director of Brewhouse & Kitchen, said: “Building on the success of our first brewing pub in Portsmouth, Brewhouse & Kitchen at Brewery Square will not only bring brewing back to the brewery but will provide an excellent menu and a fantastic beer garden."
