PARTS of Dorset have flood alerts in place as heavy rain continues across the area.
A flood alert has been issued for Chiswell, Portland and Preston Beach, Weymouth during the three hours following high tide tonight at 8.45pm and tomorrow at 8.45am.
High waters are expected along with strong winds of a force 7, close to a gale.
Elsewhere, rivers across West Dorset are responding to overnight rainfall, with the River Char - which runs from Bettiscombe to Charmouth - exceeding the flood alert criteria.
