COME and find out what happens when a glamorous French actress and her hapless assistant put on a show based on the Hollywood film Gladiator.

Spitz & Co are a French/English female comedy double-act based near Bristol.

Gloriator is their first show devised with the help of Aitor Basauri (Spymonkey) and directed by Angus Barr (Publick Transport).

Supported by Arts Council England and commissioned by Bristol Old Vic Ferment, see it in Bridport first, as this performance precedes the premier at Bristol Old Vic.

Described by Venue Magazine as “A really accomplished female clowning duo who deftly de-construct the muscular male movie hero in an absurdly hilarious way”, this is certainly a show to catch.

Niki McCretton, Artistic Director at the Lyric, says: “We are thrilled to have this performance at The Lyric in advance of its formal premiere at the Bristol Old Vic. “It’s very exciting to host new work by such talented performers and then to be followed by Angus Barr! This will make for an amazing evening.”

Angus Barr is a ukulele-banjo-wielding David to the Goliaths of hypocrisy, greed and injustice. His politically incorrect comic songs bring them all crashing to their knees. At least that is the theory… Tickets are £10 in advance from Bridport Arts Centre: 01308 424204 or on the door, if available. Recommended min age 12 (contains some swearing).
