MEMBERS of Cantamus choir are already hard at work preparing for their Lent concert season.
The group, pictured right, will give two concerts in Dorset, the first at St Mary’s Church, Bridport, on Saturday and the second at St Mary’s, Thorncombe, on Saturday April 12.
Cantamus has been performing since the spring of 2012.
Musical director Malcolm Knowles has put together the programme ‘Songs of Hope and Lamentation’ for the forthcoming concerts.
Opening with pieces by Gibbons, Lotti and Alonso Lobo, moving on to works by Rossini and Poulenc, and closing with Brahms’s gorgeous How lovely are thy dwellings, it will delight lovers of quality choral music.
Each concert begins at 7.30pm. Tickets are £8 on the door, and tickets for the Thorncombe performance will also be available from the village shop.
