A child was taken to hospital following a collision in Chapelhay.
Dorset Police said they were advised of the incident on Franchise Street just before 4pm today.
A spokesman for the police said: βIt would appear a 10-year-old child ran out between cars into the path of a slow moving vehicle.β
The child sustained injuries and was taken to hospital, but officers said the injuries are not life-threatening.
The car involved was a black Ford Fiesta.
