GROWING your own was the message when a popular gardening figure dropped in for some green-fingered chat.
Writer and broadcaster Pippa Greenwood, a regular panellist on Gardeners’ Question Time on Radio 4 visited Goulds Garden Centre in Weymouth.
She teamed up with garden products firm Stewart Garden to encourage people to grow their own produce.
She explained to a captivated audience the principles of grow your own and gave practical demonstrations of potting, creating growing beds and propagation.
Information sheets written by Pippa and complementing the demonstrations were handed out.
Speaking about the event, Pippa said: “Together we can help gardeners across the country grow great vegetables and have fun while saving money.”
