Weymouth and Portland Chamber of Commerce exists solely to serve its diverse membership of over 150 organisations, from sole traders to international brands, start-ups to long-established firms.

Not all members are in business and include educational establishments and charities.

Much of what we do facilitates networking between local organisations. The cornerstone of our calendar is our monthly business breakfast, attracting over 70 people.

We also offer a quarterly speed networking event, Breakfast @ BreaknetSpeed. The chamber organises training events during the year, enabling businesses to keep up to date with current business affairs and technology.

There’s a strong social side to chamber activities, with evening functions in local venues. In 2013 we held a barbecue in Nothe Fort and went all Bollywood for our autumn ball, raising over £1,700 for local charities.

This year’s programme includes a summer soirée at Pennsylvania Castle, a day at the Goodwood races and a Westminster visit with our local MP.

President Julie Cleaver said: “Innovative partnerships are key to our success and we’re always looking for new ways to foster positive connections with others. We recently supported the successful Weymouth College Apprenticeship Fair, in conjunction with Richard Drax MP. We are the first chamber of commerce to nominate an educational team for the prestigious Pearson Awards.”

The chamber is run by a volunteer leadership who dedicate hours to serving members and the wider community of Weymouth and Portland. Join us in helping to make a difference to individual firms and the local economy.
