BRIDPORT Town Council has agreed to pay half the costs for a project manager to get a neighbourhood plan off the ground.
It will pay £10,000 of the £20,000 for someone to do the work involved for 100 days. Town clerk Bob Gillis said the job would be advertised by the end of the month.
“We are hoping we will get someone locally and get the work started by September. We are pleased to say there are five councils, including ourselves involved.”
Those are Allington, Bothenhampton and Walditch, Bradpole, and Symondsbury.
The recruitment will be done in consultation with West Dorset District Council.
