COASTGUARDS helped to untangle a yacht with rudder problems and helped rescue a dog from a cliff.
Portland Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre was called at 8am on Thursday to help the yacht Rainbow, which had got its rudder caught round a pot marker while en route to Poole from Portland.
Weymouth inshore lifeboat helped to free the yacht and it continued its passage.
Just before 6pm Portland coastguard centre set the Kimmeridge and St Albans Head coastguard teams to help rescue a Welsh Collie dog that was stuck on the cliff in Kimmeridge Bay.
