POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a teenager was the victim of an attempted robbery in Blandford.
The incident happened in Elizabeth Road at approximately 8.45pm on September 25.
Officers say the victim, a 19-year-old man from Blandford, was approached from behind by the offender who demanded he handed over his wallet and mobile phone.
The victim refused and the offender pushed him in the chest and continued to make demands, but the teenage victim fought off the offender, who was knocked to the ground and fled on foot towards Larksmead.
Police said the offender is described as white, about six feet tall and of slim build, and may have received a cut to his mouth during the incident.
He was wearing a dark coloured hooded top, jogging bottoms and light coloured trainers.
Police Constable Simon Hallam, of Blandford police, said: “I am keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed this incident or has information about the offender. All calls will be treated in the strictest confidence.”
Anyone with information should call Dorset Police on 101, quoting incident number 26:149, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
