A FEAST of food from across the continent is coming to Dorchester’s Brewery Square.

The town centre square will be filled with the smells of Europe’s finest cuisine from Wednesday, October 29 to Friday, October 31.

Traditional Market Ltd are bringing their European Food and Craft Fair to the county town for the first time and the occasion promises to pull in the crowds.

There will be traders from France, Belgium, Italy, Spain, Holland and many more countries with their nation’s food on display.

Products on offer will include cheeses, sausages, meats and tartiflette – a cheese and potato dish from the Alps.

For those with a sweet tooth there will also be freshly-made crepes.

It will not just be food on offer as there will also be handbags and leather items, soaps, lavender, children’s toys, pashminas and crafts.

Most of the products on sale will originate from the region of the stallholder and are produced by small producers using traditional methods.

Paul Dugue from Traditional Market Ltd said there promises to be something on offer for everyone.

He said: “We have a range of products such as Spanish paella, German sausages, French crepes, dry fruit and nuts and some non-food items too such as wooden hand-made crafts, clothes and much more.”

Mr Dugue added that there would be a great atmosphere at the fair with lots of sights, sounds and smells to take in.

He said the stallholders were looking forward to bringing their market to Dorchester.

Andrew Wadsworth, director of Waterhouse which is developing Brewery Square in partnership with Resolution Property, said he was delighted to be welcoming the European market to the square.

He added that it was particularly good timing as a French restaurant, Cote Brasserie, had just opened at the development.

Mr Wadsworth said: “We are excited about hosting this event, which we are sure will bring lots of people to the square – not least to try our new French restaurant Cote Brasserie.”
