THE Dorset Branch of the British Red Cross is £9,500 better off following the one-day Country House Fair held at Lulworth Castle.
This year’s donation takes the total raised by this annual event to £64,000.
Mrs Sally Weld, of the Lulworth Estate and Patron of the Dorset Branch of the Red Cross, said: “We are absolutely delighted to see this event go from strength to strength, with more stallholders, more visitors and bigger donations to the Red Cross.
“Our thanks also go to our sponsors DOMVS and Groves Nurseries who joined with us in covering costs and attracting more visitors to an event where every single penny raised goes to the charity.”
The event has become a regular in the charity fair calendar since 2005 when it first started in Lulworth Castle House, the home of Wilfrid and Sally Weld.
Since then it has expanded into Lulworth Castle and this year, due to demand, into Lulworth Castle Courtyard as well – with a designated food hall and tea room.
Charity events for the Red Cross held at Lulworth Castle during 2014 have raised more than £18,000 in total.
Next year’s event will celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the Lulworth Country House Fair and the organisers are already making plans for something even more special. The 2015 Lulworth Country House Fair will be held on Thursday, October 15 at Lulworth Castle and grounds.
