THE final stage of Purbeck Sports Centre’s main hall facelift has been completed.
It has been repainted blue, thanks to £9,000 funding from Badminton England, as part of a six-year refurbishment programme.
The sports hall revamp comes after a new gym was installed at the leisure centre in Worgret Road, Wareham, and lighting was improved, modern changing rooms built and the indoor swimming pool upgraded.
Purbeck District Council social issues spokesman Cllr Alison Patrick said: “We are delighted with the way that the sports centre has been transformed, providing a fabulous venue for local residents, schools, clubs and the wider community. The centre offers a wealth of opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to become involved in sport and physical activity.
“These improvements underline our commitment to the health of our local community.”
