A PORTLAND holiday park has generously donated £100 to the Dorset Echo Christmas Toy Appeal.

This year marks the 15th annual toy appeal and we hope it will raise more money than ever for local needy children this Christmas.

Cove Holiday Park on Portland, which is run by Colonial Leisure, has joined many other businesses in the area in helping to make sure every child will have a present to open on Christmas day.

Colonial Leisure Events co-ordinator Kat McConnell said: “This will be our third year donating to the toy appeal, we feel it’s important to support the local charities around us. It’s important to remember others around Christmas.

“It’s a time for sharing and this is a great opportunity for local businesses to give back and make sure everyone has a gift to open on Christmas Day.

“The toy appeal makes huge a difference by doing such a small thing that so many of us take for granted. The donations help to make an underprivileged child feel special at Christmas time and we’re pleased that we can be a part of that.”

How to donate:

We are looking for 30 businesses to donate £100 each for our appeal. This has been amazingly successful in previous years and has been the main way that the toy appeal has been able to provide so many toys and gifts to needy children.

Each donation is gratefully received and all those donating £100 will be featured in the Echo.
