For some time there has been no launderette in Dorchester. We once had two.
I live in a bedsit and have no access to a washing machine - under the terms of my tenancy I am not permitted one.
I have no transport, the nearest Launderette to Dorchester is in Weymouth and I have no garden for drying clothes either.
I am not alone in this type of social housing in Dorchester and am finding it a struggle to do my washing.
My I ask what West Dorset District Council, Dorchester Town Council and the Chamber of Commerce are doing in respect to try and open one, either local-authority funded or put out to private tender.
This would be a valuable asset to the town not just to the locals but to holidaymakers as well and would provide a very necessary service.
