Sometime in 1937 my family lived above Roberts Shoe Shop in Westham Road.
My father Albert was on leave from the Royal Navy and was entrusted to take me to the shops – he promptly lost me.
I was found, crying no doubt, by the Mayor of Weymouth who returned me to my mum.
My question is – who was the Mayor of Weymouth in 1937?
If a reader has the answer I would appreciate a reply.
