STUDENTS in Weymouth have been given an insight into the life of the Mayor.
Weymouth and Portland Mayor Cllr Kate Wheller spoke to students from Weymouth College to give them an insight into what life is like as a mayor.
She was also joined by borough councillors Cllr Paul Kimber and Cllr Pamela Nixon, who spoke to students about their roles within the local community.
The students also heard a speech from Nigel Le Sueur, who spoke about the role and history of the maces and robes.
Cllr Kate Wheller said: “It is always nice to have the opportunity to meet younger residents.
“It was encouraging to see how interested students were about the world of the council and councillors.
“I am always pleased to meet groups from schools and clubs.”
