A DORCHESTER salon is hoping to prove a cut above at its new location in Brewery Square in a move that will create jobs.
The relocation of Thomas J William to the development from South Street will see 15 new jobs created.
The award-winning salon, headed by 25-year-olds Josh Lawes and James O’Brien, is opening up in Pope Street which is the newest shopping street in the £100million prestigious development.
The new 2,000 square foot premises over three levels will mean the company will more than double its staffing levels from 10 to 25, including three apprentices recruited from Weymouth College.
Thomas J William directors James and Josh Lawes said they were ‘delighted’ to be opening up in Brewery Square and excited at what it would mean for their business.
Andrew Wadsworth, director of Waterhouse which is developing Brewery Square in partnership with Resolution Property, said he was delighted to welcome the latest addition to the square, particularly as it was an up and coming local firm.
He said: “The Thomas J William salon is a great addition to the line up at Brewery Square.
“This is exactly what we have been looking for – a young company with a strong local following.
“Their success in Dorchester is a great foundation for their new, very stylish, hair salon and beauty centre.”
The 11-acre former Eldridge Pope Brewery site in Dorchester is currently undergoing the largest town centre regeneration in the South West.
A host of firms have already signed up to the scheme.
Thomas J William joins leading fashion names Hobbs, Phase Eight, Joules, Jones Bootmaker and Gerry Weber as well as restaurants Côte Brasserie, Carluccios, Wagamama, and Zizzi and the Odeon cinema complex.
