A FAILING care home that was closed after a string of damning reports is now set to be turned into flats.
Beechey House residential care home in Charminster, was closed by the Care Quality Commission, after inspectors deemed it "not safe, not responsive and not well led."
A planning application has now been submitted seeking to convert the former care home into a total of 10 self-contained flats, with replacement rear extension.
The plans are for three two-bedroom flats and seven one-bedroom flats.
The application states that other properties in the road have already been converted into flats and that allowing this property to be converted will provide much-needed housing.
The application will be considered in due course.
