I SYMPATHISE with P Kerry with respect to cyclists’ use of bells, and would encourage cyclists always to slow down, ring a bell or call a polite ‘excuse me’ when passing pedestrians.
However, on a point of fact – it is not a legal requirement for a bike to have a bell fitted.
Here’s to polite, thoughtful and sympathetic use of roads and trails everywhere!
