A WOODEN bungalow with panoramic Dorset coast sea views just yards from a beach sold for £364,000 at auction.

The half-century-old two-bedroom home at Beach Road, Burton Bradstock has views over Lyme Bay from many of its windows.

Its garden also leads directly on to the Jurassic Coast, which prompted a guide price of up to £300,000 ahead of an auction at Digby Hall, Sherborne.

But an unnamed telephone buyer, who has never even seen the Green Bungalow, paid £364,000 for it. James Pellow, of auctioneers Symonds and Sampson of Bridport, said the family were pleased with the sale and added: "The chap who bought it has never even seen it.

"He made a telephone bid. That is quite rare, but to some people £364,000 is a lot of money, to some it's disposable. He wanted something with a view and a retreat and now he has one."

The bungalow has a sitting room, bathroom and kitchen, and outside there is a slipway and patio, as well as a garden and parking for up to three cars.

The former owners let the bungalow, which can be lived in year-round, for up to £1,200 a week during the summer.
