POLICE have released a CCTV image of a person wanted after the windows and lights of 18 lorries were smashed in Wareham.

Detectives are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to come forward.

The incident happened at around 7pm on Saturday, October 17 at Viridor Waste Management Site on Bere Road.

The offender used a hammer to cause the damage.

The image shows the offender wearing black with their hood up.

Detective Constable Nick Gravenor, of Weymouth CID, said: “I am now able to release a CCTV image, which shows the offender clad in black with their hood up.

“I appreciate the image is not that clear, but it is the best we have available to us. I would urge anyone who may have seen someone in the area at the time who was wearing similar clothing to please call me on 101.

“I would also like to speak to anyone who may have seen a vehicle or anyone acting suspiciously.

“All calls will be treated in strict confidence.”
