A DISASTER-stricken couple have finally had a stroke of luck.

Their wedding has been saved by a group of people they have never met.

Jackie Glengarrick and Doug Isbell cancelled the ceremony after what they described as the worst week of their lives.

But after reading their story people from all over Dorset have rallied round online to make sure their July wedding is back on track.

The Dorset Echo first told how Miss Glengarrick's boiler exploded, scalding daughter Olivia, six, and son Luke, 18, at their home in Sussex Road, Weymouth.

Seventy gallons of hot water poured through the ceiling, wrecking the house and leaving the children without beds.

Then, four days later daughter Ashleigh, 11, was hit in the face by a stray firework at a pyrotechnics show.

Ashleigh is recovering well but Miss Glengarrick, 39, and Mr Isbell, 51, axed their wedding plans, putting their budget towards house repairs instead.

Miss Glengarrick, who runs a not-for-profit community website, said: "We're literally living in a building site.

"I left a message online explaining we were cancelling and saying I need to take some time to sort things out.

"When I went back on a week later I found all these people have arranged my entire wedding for me."

Miss Glengarrick has never met any of the people who chat on the Freecycle website - a voluntary enterprise allowing people in Dorset to chat and swap unwanted items.

But so far, she has been offered the free services of a florist, a cake maker, a hairdresser and a photographer.

And the owner of a car salesroom has pledged to pick her up and take her to the church.

She said: "They've even arranged my hen night - the whole lot!

"I haven't even met any of them and I can't really believe everything they're doing.

"Doug and I had a few tears when we decided to call it off, but we cried even more when we realised what everybody's done."
