VASCO Fernandes, 30, a bar supervisor from Weymouth who has been smoking for 15 years, thinks the ban might help him kick the habit.
"I've been thinking of quitting because hardly any of my friends or family smoke," he said. "I will probably carry on at first but this might just give me that push I need.
"Overall I think it's a good idea, I agree with it, but I reckon pubs will definitely lose a little bit of business as a result.
"Then again you never can tell because some pubs have already banned smoking and they're still busy."
