A FEW days ago, I received my first cheerful Christmas greeting. A man addressed me by my name, and said that as records show I now am older than fifty, would I care to save three hundred pounds on my funeral costs? Obviously, one leg is even further into the grave than I had realised.
On a more serious note, since neither I, nor any of my family, have ever had dealings with these people, they must scan electoral rolls for likely candidates. I note that on the internet they have written glowing testimonials about themselves, and how they safeguard our security and privacy.
