MILES from the Caribbean, Captain Jack Sparrow showed up to re-open a refurbished Weymouth store.
The Pirates of the Caribbean character was on hand to reopen the newly decked out Londis in Abbotsbury Road.
Manager Steve Bassett, who has owned the store for 17 years, has just finished refitting the premises.
The work included creating a new store layout, adding a smoothie bar and the facility to sell take-away coffees.
Mr Bassett said: "I'm always on the lookout for ways to improve my store and develop my business.
"I've worked in close partnership with Londis on the refurbishment of my store and I am very proud to be trailblazing here in Weymouth."
A spokesman for Londis said the Weymouth store is the first in the country to have been refitted in this way.
