In reply to ‘My dog is my child’ letter, (Echo, March 9) I find it amazing that you admit you cannot let your dog off the lead as it would go bounding up to people.
Dogs should be trained to obey commands from their owners.
You obviously have never taught it to do as you tell it.
You also say no one with children would visit the part of the beach where dogs are allowed because they might step in, or worse, make sandcastles with excrement mushed in the sand.
Shame on you dog owners for treating this stretch of beach as a doggie toilet!
You say it been going on for years, that doesn’t make it right!
We are all now more health conscious and dogs are a hazard on the beach.
I’m sure you will never agree with me but it would be nice if people with opinions were not afraid of having their name published.
