WEYMOUTH and Portland has been listed as one of the pub and bar capitals of the UK.
Research by a national newspaper has revealed that pubs and bars in Weymouth and Portland accounted for a higher percentage of bussinesses in 2015 than almost anywhere else in the country.
The Mirror has carried out analysis of ONS figures that show three percent of all businesses in Weymouth and Portland were pubs and bars last year.
This amounts to 65 pubs and bars in the area.
Despite this, the analysis shows that the percentage has fallen 18.8 percent since 2010.
This puts it second behind only Scarborough where 3.1 percent of all businesses are pubs and bars.
In 2015, pubs and bars accounted for 1.4 percent of businesses in the UK.
