THOUSANDS of people crammed on to Weymouth beach today to soak up the summer sun.
The town was packed with holidaymakers over the weekend, causing some delays on the roads, queues in car parks and for the Weymouth park and ride.
DCC’s travel team said traffic was heavy across the county, particularly close to the coast.
Thanks to an Echo reader on holiday from the Midlands who sent us this snap of people enjoying the annual volleyball.
They said: “The town is rammed. We had a bit of trouble finding somewhere to park, but what’s a holiday without a car argument?
“We come here every year and we absolutely love it, rain or shine. It is nice to have the good weather, though.”
Let’s hope they made the most of it- rain is on the way.
A Met Office spokesman said: “A cloudy start and patchy light rain will soon turn fairly persistent, with some heavier bursts. It’ll turn rather windy too.”
