Both myself and my husband reached retirement age this year.
Our total pension is £150 a week, both having worked all our lives, except for a short break when my children were little when I could not work.
I was incensed to read of the couple who receive £262 a week for them and their child - and out of that they could save enough money to buy drugs (Couple saved benefits for drugs', Echo, June 9).
May I suggest if this is in fact the case they are being paid too much and perhaps this should be investigated and what is surplus should be transferred to people who have paid into the system all their lives.
