Neil O'Brien, 33, lives in Weymouth and works for Condor Ferries, has smoked for 17 years and says the smoking ban will not stop him.

"I'm not quitting, it's not great but you've got to understand other people who don't smoke. But I think with everyone on the streets it is going to cause more hassle than if people were still allowed to smoke in pubs. There's going to be more anti-social behaviour happening outside.

"Other people who are walking down the street will be intimidated by people standing out on the streets."
