BIKERS who want to brush up on their skills should motor over to police headquarters.
Dorset Police have a few places left for motorcyclists interested in completing a BikeSafe course.
It is open to riders of all abilities and is aimed at making bikers more aware while at the same time helping to drive down the number of crashes involving bikes on the roads.
The course is suited to regular riders and also people returning to biking after a break, said co-ordinator PC Chris Smith.
Police advanced motorcyclists offer their expertise and assess bikers on real roads under real everyday conditions.
PC Smith said: "As a serving patrol officer and police motorcyclist I too often see the results of poor riding and driving.
"BikeSafe helps bikers to identify any weaknesses they have and get tips on how they can improve their skills and knowledge."
The course costs £60 and runs for three hours.
It involves a classroom presentation, a two-hour ride plus a personal assessment of the rider's skills.
BikeSafe courses are running on Sundays June 24, July 22, August 19, September 19 and October 14. To reserve a place contact 01305 227669 or send an email to: bikesafe@dorset. pnn.police.uk
