DRIVERS faced long delays after a serious injury crash on the A35 in West Dorset early today (MON).

Police said a DAF lorry and a Volkswagen Golf were in collision near the Quarr Lane turning between Bridport and Chideock at just after 7am.

Three people from the car were taken by ambulance to Dorset County Hospital, Dorchester, for treatment.

Their injuries are understood to be serious but not life threatening.

The road was partially blocked for almost three hours and there were reports of two mile tailbacks.
