Stuart Jackson, 61, retired and from Weymouth, says the smoking ban will not make him kick the habit.
"It won't bother me, I'll just do what I can, I'm not going to give up - I've been smoking since about 1960.
"I think bars should be segregated, I wouldn't smoke in front of a person who doesn't smoke anyway.
"I don't agree with the ban. Our parents and grandparents fought for our right not to be dictated to by a police state."
